Staff Guide

Getting Started with TPxi Go

A quick guide for staff members. Share this with your team.

Handing this to volunteers? There is a one-page printable quick start that covers the basics, with detail pages you can print or send on. For walkthroughs, a cheat sheet, and a handout, see all guides.

Outlook Add-in

TPxi Go adds a side panel to Outlook that lets you look up church contacts, see family info, and log interactions without leaving your email.

Finding the Panel

1
Open any email in Outlook. Look for the TPxi Go button in the toolbar (it may be under the "..." menu).
2
Click it to open the side panel. You can pin it so it stays open as you move between emails.

Signing In

3
Enter your TouchPoint® site URL (e.g., mychurch.tpsdb.com), your TouchPoint® username, and password.
Your username is your TouchPoint® login, not your email address or Microsoft account. If you sign in to TouchPoint® with Microsoft SSO, you may need to set a TouchPoint® password first in your profile.

Using It

  • Auto-lookup: When you open an email, the sender is automatically searched in TouchPoint®.
  • Manual search: Type a name, email, or phone number in the search box.
  • Contact card: See name, phone numbers, email, address, family members, and profile photo.
  • Log an email: Click "Log as Received" or "Log as Sent" to record the interaction in TouchPoint®. Add an optional note.
  • Click to call/email: Click any phone number or email to open the dialer or compose a new email. The interaction is logged automatically.
  • Open in TouchPoint®: Click "Open in TouchPoint®" to see the full profile in your browser.

Chrome / Edge Extension

TPxi Go works as a browser side panel. In Gmail, it automatically detects who emailed you. On any site, you can search manually.

Installing

1
Install from the Chrome Web Store (works in both Chrome and Edge). If you're using Edge, you may be prompted to allow extensions from the Chrome Web Store. Click "Allow" to continue.
Scan to install TPxi Go extension

Signing In

2
Click the TPxi Go icon in your browser toolbar to open the side panel.
3
Enter your TouchPoint® site URL, username, and password.

Using It

  • Gmail auto-detect: Open an email and the sender is automatically looked up. For conversations with multiple people, you'll see a list to pick from.
  • Manual search: On any website, open the side panel and search by name, email, or phone.
  • Log an email: Use "Log as Received" or "Log as Sent" with an optional note. You can choose whether to include the email body.
  • Family & profile: See family members, profile photos, and member status.

Microsoft Teams

TPxi Go is available as a personal app in Teams. Pin it to your sidebar for quick access while working in Teams.

Getting Started

1
Your admin deploys the app. Find TPxi Go in your Teams apps.
2
Click Pin to add it to your sidebar so it's always one click away.
3
Sign in with your TouchPoint® credentials. Search and log just like the Outlook add-in.

iOS App

TPxi Go on your iPhone gives you caller ID, contact search, Siri integration, Teams calling, and interaction logging on the go.

Getting Started

1
Install from the App Store. Search for "TPxi Go" or scan the QR code below from your iPhone.
Scan to download TPxi Go
2
Open the app and sign in with your TouchPoint® site URL, username, and password.
3
When prompted, allow contact access to enable caller ID. You can also enable it later in Settings → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification → TPxi Go.

Key Features

  • Search: Find anyone by name, phone, or email in the Contacts tab.
  • Contact card: Phone numbers, email, address, and birthday. Tap an address to open it in Maps.
  • Caller ID: Incoming calls from church contacts will show their name on your screen.
  • Siri: Say "Hey Siri, Search TP Go" to look up a contact by voice.
  • Teams Calling: If Microsoft Teams is installed, tapping a phone number gives you the option to make a regular phone call or a Teams call.
  • Log interactions: Tap "Log Interaction" on any contact to record a call, email, or text. Choose the type, direction, and add a note.
  • Activity: The Activity tab shows your recent interactions: calls, emails, texts, and profile views.
  • Quick actions: Tap any phone number to call, tap an email to compose, or tap an address to navigate.
Tip: When you tap to call or text from a contact, you'll be prompted to add a note after the action. Tap "Log" to save, "Skip" to log without a note, or "Cancel" to skip logging entirely.

Siri Voice Commands

TPxi Go works with Siri for hands-free lookups, calls, and notes, including from a locked phone, AirPods, or Apple Watch. The app name "TP Go" must come at the end of the phrase ("Search TP Go" works; "TP Go, search…" does not).

Search the directory

  • "Hey Siri, search TP Go". Siri asks "Who?" and you say a name
  • "Hey Siri, look up in TP Go", find in TP Go, or who is in TP Go

Call, text, or email someone

  • "Hey Siri, connect in TP Go", reach in TP Go, or contact in TP Go
  • "Hey Siri, dial in TP Go", call in TP Go, or ring in TP Go

Log a note or task

  • "Hey Siri, add note in TP Go", new note in TP Go, or take note in TP Go
  • "Hey Siri, add task in TP Go", create task in TP Go, or new task in TP Go
Tip: Siri recognizes many natural phrasings. Once you've used a command, it's suggested from the lock screen, Apple Watch face, and Action Button. Disambiguation: if multiple matches, Siri reads them back and you pick by voice ("the first one" or just the name).

Briefs and Ask TP Go

A brief is a short summary of a person: who they are, their family, the groups they belong to and lead, open tasks, and what recent notes say. It is handy on the way to a visit or before a call.

  • On a contact card: tap Show brief. Tap Read aloud to hear it, or type a question in the Ask box below it.
  • "Hey Siri, brief me in TP Go". Siri asks who, then reads their brief.
  • "Hey Siri, ask TP Go". Say a name, then ask what you want to know: "Who are her kids?", "What's his address?", "When did someone last talk to her?" Siri keeps listening for your next question.
  • Do things by voice: "call her", "text him saying I'm running late", "email her", "get directions", "open her profile", or "add a note". Calls, texts and emails are logged to TouchPoint® like the buttons in the app.
  • Switch people: "switch to Denise" or "what about Anna?" Say "What can I ask?" for examples, and "that's all" when you're done.
Briefs are written on your iPhone by Apple Intelligence. Nothing about the person is sent anywhere, and a brief only uses what you can already see in TouchPoint®. Emergency contact and medical details follow the same permission as the card, and Siri gives them only when you ask. Briefs and Ask TP Go need iOS 26 and an iPhone with Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro or newer). Your church can turn them off on its TP Go dashboard.

Android App

OPEN BETA

TPxi Go on Android gives you caller ID, directory search, and call/text/email logging on the go. Currently in open beta. The Play Store listing isn't public yet, so the steps below differ from the iOS install.

Sign Up for the Beta

1
Join the tester group with the Google account on your Android phone: groups.google.com/g/tpxigo-testers. We don't see your email; Google manages membership.
2
Wait about a minute for Google to register your group membership.
3
Install on Android: tap this Play Store link on your phone, then "Become a tester" → "Install". On a desktop, use the web opt-in link instead.
4
Open the app and sign in with your TouchPoint® site URL, username, and password.

Key Features

  • Search: Find anyone by name, phone, or email in the Contacts tab.
  • Caller ID: When a church member calls, your phone's dialer shows their name with a "TPxi Go" label. The directory stays inside the app (encrypted, private). Nothing is written to your phone's Contacts app or synced to Google.

Hey Google Voice Commands

TPxi Go integrates with Google Assistant for hands-free contact lookups on Android.

On Gemini: these commands run through Google Assistant. Phones that have moved to Gemini cannot use them yet.
  • "Hey Google, search TP Go for [name]". One-shot search that opens the app on the Contacts tab with results shown
Tip: The first time after install or update, Google Assistant may take a minute to re-index the app's name. If the phrase doesn't route correctly, force-stop the app once and try again. Long-pressing the TPxi Go icon on the home screen also offers a "Search Contacts" shortcut that opens directly into search.
Tip: The directory refreshes daily in the background. You can also tap "Sync Directory" in Settings → Caller ID to force a refresh. Hit a bug? Email support@tpxigo.com with the issue and your phone model. Android Auto support is on the roadmap.

Deep Links

TPxi Go responds to URL links from other apps, scripts, web pages, and shortcuts. They are handy for sharing a contact with a colleague, building a TouchPoint® widget that opens a profile, or wiring shortcut buttons in iOS/Android.

Open a contact profile

Universal Link (iOS) / App Link (Android). If TPxi Go is installed, the OS routes the link directly into the app's profile screen. If not, the browser shows a preview page that redirects to the native TouchPoint® profile. Link previewers (iMessage, Slack, Outlook) read the OpenGraph metadata and render a clean card.

  • https://tpxigo.com/people/{cmsHost}/{peopleId}: canonical profile URL
  • https://tpxigo.com/c/{cmsHost}/{peopleId}: short legacy alias (same behavior)

Example: https://tpxigo.com/people/mychurch.tpsdb.com/12345

cmsHost is your TouchPoint® hostname: either a bare subdomain (fbchtn, which becomes fbchtn.tpsdb.com) or a full custom domain (myfbch.com).

Open the search screen (Android)

A custom URL scheme that launches TPxi Go directly into search. Used internally by the home-screen widget, the long-press shortcut, and Google Assistant, but you can call it from anywhere on the device.

  • tpgo://search: open the search tab empty
  • tpgo://search?q={query}: open the search tab and run the query immediately

iOS doesn't use a custom URL scheme for search. Use Siri ("Search TP Go") or iOS Spotlight instead.

Use case: paste a tpxigo.com profile URL into an email or Slack message. Recipients with the app installed tap once and land on the contact card; everyone else sees a clean preview that redirects to the native TouchPoint® page.

Common Questions

What username do I use?

Your TouchPoint® username, the one you use to sign in to TouchPoint® directly. This is usually NOT your email address.

My church uses Microsoft SSO to sign in to TouchPoint®. Will this work?

TPxi Go does not currently support SSO sign-in. If your church uses Microsoft SSO, you'll need to set a TouchPoint® password first: go to your TouchPoint® profile → My Account → Change Password. Once set, use your TouchPoint® username and that password to sign in to TPxi Go. SSO support is being worked on for a future update.

Can I use it on multiple devices?

Yes. Sign in on each device separately. Your credentials are stored locally on each device.

Who can see what?

You can only see contacts your TouchPoint® admin has given you access to. If you have limited access in TouchPoint®, TPxi Go respects those same restrictions.

Are my interactions logged?

Only when you explicitly click "Log as Received/Sent" or when you tap to call/email from a contact card. TPxi Go doesn't automatically log every email you open.

Need help?

Contact your church's TPxi Go administrator for help with setup, access, or questions.
